Dreams!

The dreams which are the subject of this article and assignments are not necessarily the dreams you have while sleeping, although sometimes there’s a correlation! The dreams we are talking about are the dreams you have for your future, which you may have buried.

Usually, people bury their dreams, sometimes unconsciously, because they hold tighter to their fears than they do to their dreams! In his book, Simple Steps to Impossible Dreams, Steven K. Scott writes that there are 6 chains that prevent us from being able to convert our dreams into reality:
1. Programming for mediocrity
2. Fear of failure
3. Avoidance of criticism
4. Lack of clear and precise vision
5. Lack of know- how.
6. Lack of Resources.

I would add one more: Number 7; Attachment to “how”. Thinking there is a way, and THIS is it, prevents you from being able to receive the inspiration of some other way to accomplish “it”, whatever it is!

To uncover your dreams, and being to re-awaken them, here are some assignments for you to write down the answers to:

1. Consider your youth, and ask yourself, “What did I think I wanted to do back when I didn’t know that people thought it couldn’t be done?” Write it down!
2. Again, considering your youth, what types of activities did you enjoy? There are clues in there as to the types of vocations that would bring you fulfillment!
3. Ask yourself, “Did I only dream about those things because I thought it was all that was possible?”
4. Do I only dream about money and having lots of it? THAT is not a dream! That is a vehicle of “how”! Money is not really what you want; You want what you think the money will enable you to do! What would you do with it?
5. What business or vocational dreams have you had in the past that you did not do? Why?
6. Would you like to awaken that same dream, or a rendition of it?
7. What possible solutions for awakening that dream can you think of?
8. What education do you think you’ll need, or want to get in order to do that? List all the ways you can think of for getting that education, both formal and informal.
9. What fears come up? Ascertain whether that fear is from ego or divine: (Hint: God never guides through fear!)
10. What invention ideas have you had in the past? Would you like it if you reawakened that prompting to create that invention? List them.
11. What business ideas have you had in the past? Would you like it if you reawakened that prompting to investigate that invention? List them. Also list any and all ideas on how to begin investigating them.
12. What skills and talents do you possess that you could teach to others? Either through books, or articles, or offering classes?
13. In what ways are you efficient at things that other people could use help at?

By the time you’re done doing all this self-exploration,, you’ll have re-awakened your dreams!
