Ideas for Getting Support!

Ideas for Getting Support!

By Janeen Detrick

1. First, learn to ASK for support! When was the last time you really wanted someone to notice that you wanted feedback, but YOU didn’t ask for it? I”I would really like to know how you think I’m doing…” “I would like your feedback about ________” “Come look at this ____________ (project I just completed!) I’m proud of myself, and I just want you to see it!” Do you think it’s wrong to ask for help? Do you think it’s wrong to ask for validation? It is fine, as long as you ASK for it! It becomes a limitation, a dysfunction, if you just seethe inside, without asking, and resent them for not knowing to give it to you! LEARN TO ASK! “Wouldn’t it?”

2. Of course, there’s www.meetup.com! Start your own group about ANYTHING! If there’s no group in your area, so what? The internet is international! This really leaves NO EXCUSES.

3. Start a discussion board on your website! This is also a great marketing tool!

4. Look for a group in your area through your local parks and recreation department, or community colleges, If they don’t host one already, volunteer to start one!

5. Start a Community on Facebook, twitter and other social media!

6. Do an internet search of whatever it is you feel you need support regarding, and then search for “discussion groups, forums, mastermind groups, …” Save everybody’s email addresses, and build friendships with them! For example, www.powerfulintentions.org, which is a Law of Attraction Support Group!

7. For business support, you could try www.passionforbusiness.com, and in the search field, enter “master mind groups”.

8. Log into Famous People’s Facebook pages, and send friend requests to all the people who also like that famous person that you like!

9. Create a “Become a _________ Mentor” event, in which the attendees will all become advisors for that kind of subject. This validates the authority of the attendees, and solidifies their giftedness in relation to the subject! They become mentors to any other attendees who would like to have a mentor, and this creates community for you! This can become a networking opportunity for you as well.

10. Newsletters! Sign up to receive as many of OTHER PEOPLE’S newsletters as possible! You could even create a special email account for receiving them.
