Affiliate Marketing 101

I’ve recently studied the Value of Affiliate Marketing in websites. There are multiple types and functions of Affiliate marketing, and many different ways to incorporate them into your online business. I would like to talk about the three main types of Affiliate marketing and describe some of the best ways to use them in your business.

The first thing I would like to talk about is Google AdSense. This form of Affiliate Marketing allows you to place ads on your site and earn extra income by directing your visitors through the links to other websites. This is an effective tool to add to a blog, a website, or any online presence that will attract traffic. As with any affiliate marketing tool, Traffic is key.

Google AdSense and other similar Affiliate marketing tools can be setup in many different configurations. This will allow you to create ads that conform and enhance the look and feel of your site. As visitors click on the ads, they will leave your site and end up on the affiliate site, plus the ads that are show may be in direct competition with things on your site. You will want to keep this in mind when you place these ads to make sure they do not compete with the products you are trying to sell.

The second type of Affiliate Marketing I would like to talk about is Similar to the first, but it’s through Sites like CJ.com, or ClickBank.com. This style of Affiliate Marketing allows you to choose that ads you wish to place on your site. You can also have a selection of different banners and styles of ads to be shown in your site.

Using a Site such as CJ.com, you can apply for different ads you wish to display on your site. Once you are accepted, you will receive an email giving you instructions on how to acquire the HTML code that you will need to place within your site. As visitors come to your site they will be able to click the ads and leave your site for your affiliate. This style of marketing can be very beneficial in your Blog pages, or even in article pages on your website.

As an example, if you have a website or blog where you are talking about the latest Shoes on the market. As you describe each new brand and style you can have affiliate links linking to a site that sells that shoe, brand, or style. This can bring extra income and even a percentage of the sale; witch brings me to the third style of Affiliate Marketing.

The Third style I will talk about is best explained by Amazon.com’s associate program. Using the example above, imagine replacing the Ads for other websites with the exact Item you are talking about.

Using Amazons Associate program you are able to advertise any item provided on Amazon.com and you can receive 4-8% of the sale. The aStore Option allows you to setup complete stores and shopping carts to provide almost any product you can imagine. Amazon also provides ways for you to list and show individual items that you are able to advertise, along with step by step instructions on setting up your products.

All of these Tools are available and can all be used on your site at the same time. The key to any affiliate marketing Campaign is Traffic. You can have a wonderful looking site with content and links ads and products ready to be clicked linked or sold, but without visitors no of this will be worth while. Remember that your affiliate marketing should compliment your site, not distract from it. The ads and products should be relevant to the main focus and purpose of your site, and should not display items and products that are not talked about or are not pertaining to your business.

No matter what option you choose, or if you choose all three, affiliate Marketing can enhance your Website and provide additional ways to gain income from your site. Remember that each new marketing strategy is flexible and can change. Nothing is written in stone, try new strategies, try new add placement techniques, and inventive ways to bring focus to your Affiliates.
