I have heard about CraigsList, and people telling me how much easier it is from using Ebay. I decided to use it. I went through everything I could find. I was able to put together four lists on Criagslists. Within a month, I had a hit, and someone wanted me to meet with me. I had a sale. I was surprised on how easy it was.
The first step is to write the description. I wrote short paragraphs. Nothing longer than a third of a page. After you have the description written, you post the information on craigslist. This was as easy as attaching a document to an email.
After you attach the document, Criaglists asks a couple questions to set up an email with them. The cool thing about the email with them, it is like a wall to protect your identity. The customers will send Craigslist an email through your identification number with them. From there Criagslist will forward you the email.
Once you receive the email, or hit, you communicate back and forth to set up a meeting place. It is recommended you meet during the day, and at a public location. Do not give out personal information, just basic information to meet with the person. Also only accept cash.
One last trick: Start High! The main difference of CraigsList and Ebay is with Craigslist you set your price and with Ebay it’s more of an auction. So you want to start with a price you are willing to sell your item. If you do not have anyone interested, you lower your price. I usually give it a couple weeks before I change the price.
We all have items sitting around our house, and we can take these items and sell them on Craigslist. Good luck!
