Webinars – A New Opportunity

Many business are beginning to use online seminars, also known as webinars, for both sales and training. Like so many technological advances which have increased effectiveness and productivity, webinars are fast becoming the preferred delivery method for business and consumers all over the world.  There are many advantages that a webinar can offer:

Convenience - Many webinar platforms do not require a video confirmation, like video-conferencing. You can show up in your pajamas at home if you wish. This convenience appeals to many would-be participants.

Reaching a Large group of people – Some platforms allow upwards of 50+ to be attendance. This economies of scale allows business to leverage the time and resources of a few.

Global Reach – With attendees logging in from anywhere in the world, the days of airplane travel for meeting and trainings may becoming obsolete. Webinars allow you to touch people in other countries and offices.

Cost – Taking into account the savings in air travel alone, webinars may be highly appealing. When factored in with the pay for individuals, lodging, out of the office effectiveness, and opportunity cost, cost may an even bigger issue.

Sales - Having a captive audience for training and product demonstrations always helps. Many companies have seen a dramatic increase in their ability to interact and reach people during these unique sales opportunities.

Multi-media – Many platforms offer desktop sharing, remote access, chat, video, powerpoint slides, webcam, a browser interface, and collaboration tools.

If you are like many companies, you may want to consider some application of webinars into your business model.
