Graduate Call Notes: How Fear Could Be Holding You Back From Your Financial Goals

Have you ever let fear hold you back from accomplishing a goal?  What is the most common fear that has robbed more people of their dreams than anything else? Often students do not accomplish what they set out to accomplish because of the fear of failure.  We have all experienced fear in life.  Some of us have experienced fear to the point where they are not able to take action.  Some have had fear that reaches back all the way to their childhood.  I was recently working with a student that had an extreme case of the fear of failure.  It was the kind that went all the way back to when she was a child.  As a child she was severely punished for mistakes that she had made she even remembers times when she was hurt in her crib.  These early assumptions and beliefs that we develop as children often stick with us our entire lives unless we deal with them.  We found that some of the symptoms of the fear of failure and any liming beliefs for that matter are as follows:  Procrastination, feeling alone, lack of energy, often getting sick etc.

Becoming successful in anything you do sometimes takes looking deep inside yourself and asking yourself, “what is holding me back?”  If you find yourself not doing your homework, or losing energy when it comes to tracking your expenses, then you have a limiting belief.  Talk to your coach right away.  You may be shocked when you learn how easy it is to clear that.  What does this have to do with money?  Everything!  Because if you do not clear these limiting beliefs you will find yourself starting but you will have a heck of a time finishing what you started.

Good luck this week and remember to believe in yourself!
