Craig’s List 102

Posting Warnings

Over posting: you can post multiple time a day on craigslist. BUT, you cannot and should not post the exact same ad multiple times in the same day, or in consecutive days. Craigslist monitors posts and will flag and remove duplicate posts. I suggest creating a few different ads for Craigslist, and rotating through them in a week, one or two a day.Never repeating the same one within two consecutive days.

Adding Links to your posts: you are able to add HTML links in your post to your website. I suggest making your Domain a link, and this is how you will do it. In the post place the following code, replace “MyDomain with your domain. <a href=http://www.MyDomain.com>www.MyDomain.com</a> You are able to link Key word phrases to your website, to do this simply replace the second “www.MyDomain.com with your key word phrase. Example: <a href=http://www.MyDomain.com>Key Word Phrase</a> The Warning on doing this is not to over link your posts. One or two is a good number. Even then you might get flagged and removed, it all depends on who is moderating that Craigslist.

Post Content: When you write your post, you should never promote your ad as “Come see me I’m the best it should be motivating to visit your website for more information, but should not be pushy or over excited like a car sale ad.

Spicing up your post: you are able to use HTML to build your ad, but you should do it in a tactful and sparing way. Make it look pretty and help inform your viewer about the product. To much and you will be flagged and removed.

Craigslist is a great tool, but be smart and use commonsense when posting and this will help you to gain recognition, back links, and drive traffic to your site.
